Funeral services will be conducted at
the residence at 2 o’clock, Friday
afternoon, by Rev. James Cameron Murdoch,
pastor of the First Presbyterian Church,
of which the deceased was a member. Interment
will be made in Union Cemetery south of
Sparta.
For about 58 years, Mr. Wilson had been
one of the community’s most prominent

of the war, he was married to Miss Lucretia
McLaughlin at her home in the south part
of Randolph county. They resided on a
farm in Jackson county for 6 years, but
in 1872 moved to the farm south of Sparta,
now occupied by Arthur Weber. They remained
there until 20 years ago, when they moved
to Sparta. Mrs. Wilson died at the family
home here on Sept. 8, 1926 just a few
days before she was to celebrate her 60th
wedding anniversary. To Mr. & Mrs.
Wilson were born 11 children, four of
whom are deceased.
Surviving are four sons, Henry Wilson
of Wells, Neb.; Waldo & Don of Milwaukee,
WI.; & Logan of St. Louis, and three
daughters, Mrs. Laura Davison of Shreveport,
LA., Mrs. George Chambers & Mrs. Steve
Candler of Sparta. Three brothers, Abner,
Herman C. & Aaron, also survive. Mrs.
Davison, a daughter, is expected to arrive
this morning from Shreveport, LA. to attend
