OBITUARY: INSURANCE MAN SCHNEIDER DIES TUESDAY AT AGE 60.

Donald Raymond Schneider, 60, 972 S. Poplar Ave., the onwer and manager of the Albert Schneider and Son Insurance and Travel Agency, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Schneider became ill at his office and the Kankakee Fire Department Emergency Squad was called and transported him to Riverside Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
A lifelong resident of Kankakee, Mr. Schneider was member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, the Kankakee Kiwanis Club, the Kankakee Masonic Lodge 389 and the Royal Arch Masons.
In connection with his business, Mr. Schneider was a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Kankakee County, the Kankakee Transportion Club, the Anerican Society of Travel Agents and the Associated Travel Agents. He was also a member of the Kankakee Sportsman's club.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank O. Schneider, he was born April 9, 1914 in Kankakee. During World War II he served with the military police in the South Pacific.
On Aug. 10, 1940 in Kankakee he was married to the former Lorraine Zeisler who survives.
Survivors, in addition to his widow include daughters, Mrs Ann Walters of Nashville, Ind., Mrs Donna Maglott of Rockville, Md.; a son, Richard L. Schneider of Champaign; a brother, H. Glenn Schneider of Kankakee and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Phillips, Friday and Schreffler Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Bauer will officate.
Visition at the funeral home will be Thursday afternoon and evening and until time of services Friday.
Burial will be in Mound Grove gardens where Military rites will be conducted by members of Kankakee American Legion Post 85.
Memorials in Mr. Schneider's name have been established for both the Asbury United Methodist Church and the First United Presbyterian Church.

Schneider was the owner and manager of the Albert Schneider & Son Insurance and Travel Agency, 155 E. Merchant St., Kankakee. Survivors include the widow, Lorraine; two daughters, Mrs Ann Walters and Mrs. Donna Maglott; a son Richard; a brother; and four grandchildren.
