OBITUARY: RITES TUESDAY FOR MRS. LOCKWOOD
The last rights for Mrs. Elsie C. Lockwood, 195 N. Greenwood Ave., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Phillips, Friday and Shreffler Funeral home. She died in a local nursing home after an extended illness.
The Rev. Harry S. Crede, Pastor of the First Methodist Church, will conduct rites. burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call in the funeral home this afternoon and evening and Tuesday until time of services.
Mrs. Lockwood was born Elsie Curry, April 17, 1883, at Aurora and had lived in Kankakee since 1915.
She was married in May, 1915, in Chicago to Dr. Charles Richard Lockwood, who died in 1925. Three brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.
Surviving Mrs. Lockwood are Daughters, Mary Schneider and Betsy Webster and a stepdaughter, Hester Quigley all of Kankakee; a sister Mrs. Robert C. Kendall of Aurora; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of First Methodist Church and of the Halcyon Club.
